"There’s a shift happening. A desire for authenticity and more in person connection, a rejection of the illusion of perfection we see online." i'm seeing this shift in both personal and professional realms! i'm excited to try the challenge of describing my work without jargon — thanks for sharing!

Omg Kaitlyn I want to talk more about this. I've been quietly observing it and have my theories about why now. So fascinating that you're seeing it too. Curious to hear how it's showing up for you.

Same here! Here's how I'm experiencing this shift:

Personally: More friends and family embracing “radical honesty” in conversation, prioritizing screen-free quality time, and becoming more comfortable showing less-polished, more candid versions of themselves in public.

Professionally: (For context, I work remotely for a major tech-services company!) Teams are prioritizing in-person meet-ups (locally and through site visits) to build genuine personal connections! While remote, we start team meetings with thoughtful questions (like “What’s something small that made you smile recently?”) to facilitate more authentic conversations.

I'd be interested to hear your theories about why now! :)

These are great examples! They gave me some ideas/things to think about as well.

Love the question at the start of meetings - we used to do that on one of my teams and it helped with connection and cohesion. In terms of why now, I think there’s device/tech fatigue, years of optimization fatigue, and I also think people are trying to reconnect to themselves/others in organic ways after years of relying on SM/apps to do so and not actually deepening relationships. Pendulum swings. I’m personally feeling it myself, so it’s a welcome change.
