The career playbook used by high-achievers. Reframed is read by leaders at Google, Meta, Netflix, Chanel, Harvard, and more.

Do you ever wonder what happens behind closed doors when leaders make decisions about who gets promoted, who gets access to the opportunities everyone else only hears about secondhand? And why some people get written off as “not quite ready yet”?

I’ve been on both sides of that table. And what I learned is this: the people who keep getting what they want aren’t just the best performers. They know how to read the room, manage up, influence sideways, and make their impact legible at the levels that matter.

That’s a learnable skill. Most people just never get taught it.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably the reliable one. The person everyone counts on to figure it out, deliver the work, and hold things together when it gets hard. But somewhere along the way the rules changed and nobody told you.

So you end up doing great work but not getting the recognition, the promotion, or the opportunities you’ve earned. You’re getting feedback that feels intangible. You’re watching people around you move forward instead of you.

And you’re starting to wonder if working harder is actually the answer or if something else entirely is going on.

Here’s what’s actually going on.

The skills that made you excellent — executing brilliantly, solving problems, being the person everyone counts on — are not the same skills that take you to the next levels of leadership. At a certain point the game shifts.

It stops being about the quality of your work and starts being about how you position it, who sees it, how you navigate the people above and around you, and whether the leaders in the room can picture you operating at the next level.

That shift is learnable. But only once you correctly diagnose what you’re actually dealing with. And most ambitious people don’t because the problem they think they have is almost never the real one.

That’s what Reframed is built around.

Every Monday, one idea that changes how you see your career and exactly what to do about it. It’s the kind of honest coaching I wish someone had offered me when I was figuring this out the hard way.

I went from IC to VP in five years in tech, quadrupled my income along the way, and now I coach the directors, VPs, and senior leaders doing the same at companies like Google, Meta, Airbnb, Citi, A24, Netflix, and more.
