Welcome to Reframed!
I started this newsletter because the way we talk about work is broken.
Too often, the advice sounds like it was written by someone who’s never managed a team, survived a layoff, or actually led inside a Fortune 500. That’s not me.
I’ve been the one promoted five times in five years. I’ve also been the one let go—twice. I’ve managed teams of 250+, closed big deals, and built high-performing orgs.
I’ve made mistakes I’d never put in a LinkedIn post.
But the throughline? I’ve always been the person people came to for real, applicable, no-BS advice about work.
In 2023, I turned that into something bigger: Work with Ashley R. — a premium coaching company for ambitious professionals who are done with vague advice and ready for results. My clients work across tech, media, education, entertainment, and beauty. Startups to Fortune 100s.
Some are climbing.
Others are shifting.
All of them are building careers on their terms.
What is Reframed?
It’s not a newsletter about “success”.
It’s a newsletter about how to think.
How to think about work, power, leadership, and identity. It’s about how to show up in rooms that weren’t designed for you to win.
We cover topics like:
Getting promoted (without selling out)
Rebuilding confidence after burnout or bad management
Having better 1:1s, better boundaries, and better weekends
Learning how to advocate for yourself when the room gets quiet
Every week, you’ll get insights that help you work smarter and build a career you’re proud of.

Who is Reframed for?
Reframed is for you if:
✅ You’re a leader (or on your way there)
✅ You’re done with fluff, filler, or buzzword soup
✅ You want tools you can use this week, not someday
This is not corporate-speak. It’s career strategy with clarity, edge, and a little bit of taste.
So who am I, really?
I’ve spent my career building brands, leading teams, and operating at the highest levels inside ambitious orgs — from scrappy startups to larger enterprises. I’ve had a seat at the exec table, managed teams across multiple time zones, and carried the weight of “making it work” when the plan changed.
In the moments people don’t post about — post-layoff limbo, the first time managing someone older than you, the meeting where you’re asked to explain “the strategy” you’re still figuring out — I was the person coworkers came to for the real talk.
Now, I get to do that full-time.
As a coach, I work with founders, operators, and senior leaders across tech, media, education, entertainment, and beauty. My clients are sharp, thoughtful, and driven. They’re building careers with intention.
And through Reframed, I get to reach even more people with the kind of insight that’s usually kept behind paywalls or whispered in backchannel DMs. It’s part career advice, part operating manual, part pep talk.
I live in NYC. I have the best cavapoo named Ailey and yes—I spend every single morning taking a long walk in the park because it helps me process all the thoughts you read right here on Reframed.

What my readers & clients have to say about me
Reframed is one of my favorite newsletters! Ashley has an ability to make intimidating concepts and scenarios feel very approachable. Sometimes it's like she's reading my mind and giving me the little push I need to do the thing!
I look forward to reading it when it hits my inbox because it is full of valuable insights written in a clear, fun, and relatable manner. It's not just a regurgitation of trendy jargon and acronyms. I find value in all of the newsletter editions, even the ones I didn't think applied to me.
Since working with Ashley, I've developed greater confidence speaking up in meetings with senior leaders and in rooms where I've historically struggled with imposter syndrome.
I am more self-assured, empowered and intentional in how I communicate with my CEO.
