I think that was one of the biggest skills I had to learn. In my experience, so much emphasis was put on agenda creation but that just led to moving through the agenda (or letting it get derailed because you didn't know how to manage the room). I agree with you so much on this, steering is so so so important in all contexts. And you already know this but want to make sure it's clear in the comments, steering is not the same as steamrolling lolol!
So good, as always. Steering a meeting, especially if it's not "your" meeting, is one of the most under-rated, highly valuable leadership skills.
