It reminded me of a former toxic manager (who I nicknamed Vortex for his ability to suck you into his vortex of terrible) who spent 18 months ignoring all my ideas for a project we were working on only to promote another colleague (who was also his friend) not 3 weeks after he joined the team. This reframing would have been so helpful at that time!
