Ashley, this was a really helpful look into shaping your narrative at work! Would you consider a follow-up post about what speaking to your accomplishments in meetings/emails would look like? Or please let me know if you've already covered this :)

Hi Tina - really happy that you enjoyed this one! I touched on it a little in the post below conceptually but I am open to doing a deeper dive since I think it’s an area that trips people up the most. Maybe I can pull examples from my network too :)

Thank you for this link! That would be amazing if it fits with your content schedule - it can feel tough to find the right balance with this.

Amazing post! Yes, once you start trying to reach certain leadership levels, it is important that your work is seen and that you are actively communicating it to the decision makers. I think a follow up post on HOW and WHEN to do this would also be helpful to everyone reading this.

Thank you!

Thanks for reading Madelyn! I think a few use cases could be helpful here. Let me do some thinking and I'll come up with an approach :)

This is the "good" politics, vs. the gross/icky politics. Building and leveraging influence, not manipulating.

Omg yes - I think what I've also noticed is that people who can get by on their merits can talk about them to get ahead (this is an oversimplification but still rings true). And those who can't for whatever reasons (lack the results, skills, etc) have to play the comparison game aka dirty politics to get ahead. Most people see the latter happening and associate that with self promotion and it feels yucky (it is!). The former is a bit more subtle and maybe doesn't get coded as self promotion but it's critical.
